Issue 1: 

In the wake of Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC decides to revamp and reinvigorate their universe, and their heroes. First, Superman, then Wonder Woman and the Batman, now it's the Big Red Cheese who gets the revamp treatment. When fifteen year old Billy Batson utters the magical word "Shazam," he is transformed into the adult hero Captain Marvel. With powers that rival even Superman's, Captain Marvel possesses the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. An automobile accident leaves young Billy Batson orphaned. Forced to live with his cruel Uncle Sivana, Billy soon learns that his parent's death might not have been an accident.  

Issue 2:

The cruel and malevolent Dr. Thaddeus Sivana has succeeded in bringing forth a being of power to help him in his nefarious affairs. Black Adam was the first benefactor of the power granted by the wizard Shazam, and 5,000 years ago he ruled ancient Egypt with an iron-fist. Now, he is in the present and only fifteen year old Bill Batson has within him the power to stop Black Adam.  

Issue 3:

Captain Marvel has met his predecessor in battle and failed. Black Adam was wielding the power of the wizard Shazam 5,000 years before Billy Batson was even born. Can Billy find a way to defeat his foe, a being who can match his every move and then some? Perhaps the answer lies within the origin of Black Adam.  


Issue 4:

When last we saw Captain Marvel he was at the mercy of the nigh unstoppable Black Adam and Billy Batson's malevolent uncle, Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Cap is going to need all the wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules, stamina of Atlas, power of Zeus, courage of Achilles, and speed of Mercury he can muster to defeat these two arch fiends. And, a little help from his Uncle Dudley wouldn't hurt.
